What is The Nature of Love?: Poem

Meditative Poetry – what is the nature of love?

what is the nature of love?
I don’t know if love can be described.
as I write these words,
the sun is beaming through my front door.

the room is silent and undisturbed.
outside, I see tree branches move in the wind
and I hear planes flying above.
it is here, I encounter love.

my mind reminds me of what needs to be done.
my body is cold, my stomach is rumbling,
and these tired eyes of mine try to remain open.
I find the seeds of love in this too.

I witness the body and all these manifestations.
I am one with this whole play of life.
so, how can there be any loss for me?
how can I lack anything?

all beings are arising from my very heart.
they arise to me and from me,
and they are all one with me.

This, I think,
is the nature of love.
