Mindfully Dealing With Anger

The Mindful Way Through Anger

Anger is a normal, healthy emotion, arising when we feel attacked, unfairly treated, accused, hurt, or threatened. But, it can cause us to lose control, attack those we love, lose sight of the big picture, and say and do things we regret. So, by mindfully dealing with anger, we learn how to slow down, gain insight, and act from our heart’s center, even in challenging situations.

Letting Go of Judgment of Ourselves and of Others

How to Stop Judging and How to Let Go When Others Judge You

Letting go of judgment is a central part of mindfulness practice and is vital to safeguard your mental health. It is likely that at some point you have been criticized and left to feel like you are not good enough.

As a result, holding on to such painful memories is not uncommon. Consequently, this dampens your inner light and leads to anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. Additionally, judgment engenders hatred, distrust, and separation.

With mindfulness, however, we can maintain a peaceful mind and learn to let go.

Explaining Mindfulness to Children

How You Can Explain Mindfulness To Kids In A Way They Will Understand, Remember And Enjoy

The Importance Of Mindfulness

When we don’t know how to help ourselves during times of anxiety and stress, life can be unbearable. Particularly as children, we are at our most vulnerable. While we are taught ways to protect ourselves from physical danger, often we are not taught how to help ourselves through psychological suffering.

Moreover, kids may not know how to ask for help or understand when they need it. In fact, I experienced this myself as a child and I strongly believe that explaining mindfulness to kids can really help them move through life with ease and confidence.

Discover the Power of Mindfulness

What is Mindfulness

What exactly is mindfulness and why should we care about it? Well, we often make up our minds about something within a very short period of time. Influencers, bloggers, writers, advertisers, salespeople, almost everyone who has ever tried to engage or convince anyone of anything, knows that they must have a compelling hook. This is the extent of mine and if you are still reading, great, but at any point that can change because of a single deciding factor: a thought.

Breaking the Chains of Desire

The Link Between Desire and Suffering

If we picture “desire” as a tree and “clinging” as a rope, suffering arises when we tie one end of the rope around ourselves and the other end to the tree. The tree and the rope can exist, but it is our identification with them that binds us. Both desire and clinging arise in our consciousness and we can be aware of them because we are separate from them.

We do not need to tie ourselves to either but because we believe we can obtain something of value, we continue clinging even when it causes us pain.

Finding True Purpose

What does it really mean to find true purpose?

There seems to be a cultural idea that one must have a purpose. When one finds their purpose, it is then said that their life now has meaning. For those of us who struggle with the idea of finding true purpose, we may feel insignificant or powerless, as if we are not fulfilling our potential. This is simply not true.

Finding True Purpose
“The meaning of life is just to be alive. It is so plain and so obvious and so simple. And yet, everybody rushes around in a great panic as if it were necessary to achieve something beyond themselves.” ― Alan Watts
